Country information
Cameroon’s title "Africa in miniature" stems from its geographic and social diversity.
The Central African country covers an exceptional richness of species from the beautiful coastal regions,
tropical rain forests, volcanic plateaus and mountains to the savannah in the Chad Basin. Moreover,
the population is as mixed and multicultural as in almost no other African state. Overall around 230 ethnic groups
live peacefully together, the six largest come from Bantu, Sudan and Fulani peoples.
This is mainly due to Cameroon's history,
where big waves of immigration always played an important role.
